Welcome to the home of Donohue Quarter Horses.
We are so glad you stopped in to see us.
We started our breeding program in 1975, with the purchase of one well-bred foundation mare. In 1980, we purchased our first stallion, River Charge, an AAA sire with Depth Charge, King, Old Sorrel and Bold Venture breeding.
Since then, we have grown our operation, but have continued to focus on qualities you find in the old foundation lines: quiet minds, a strong work ethic, calmness under pressure, athleticism, train-ability, and versatility. We breed what we like and want to ride and compete on.
Our background is professional rodeo and ranching. Our family has traveled the country rodeoing and have been ranching for over 40 years. We know what kind of horses are needed for both in and out of the arena. Being well mounted is a key element to success.
